is a dieta easy?
There are two sides to every plant we learn from. A dark and light side. When we allow ourselves to go too far to one side, a brujo/bruja is created. This is a dangerous road where an old story of duality, unhealthy power, and war is made.
In my recent diet, I let a specific person get the best of me. The annoyances turned to anger and into projection. I can diffuse and decompress, but I am more capable of doing so promptly. I thought I was OK to leave and close my diet, but I knew I felt off after leaving. It takes a specific type of awareness to know when you have connected deeply with the darker side of a plant and a lot of courage to say; I am not feeling myself and my usual spirit. I will return to the jungle to get help balancing the connection to this lovely plant. I wrote a poem entrenched in the magnificent light side of an Amazonian plant called Marosa to connect quickly. This plant touched me deeply with my inner child, childhood suppressed memories, and all men in my ancestry. In the pits of the darker side of plants, I learned the darker side of power and masculinity. While in one of these states, I was bitten by my first Amazonian scorpion to the tip of my finger, and WOW. It was the medicine I needed to bring me back into my body and out of the mental/emotional process I created for myself.
I am so thankful to the maestro and the facilitators for allowing me to return and get help realigning my connection to this plant. I am also grateful for myself for keeping this process to myself (not throwing energy back at the person) and not verbally interacting with, in my subjective perception, what felt like to me a complicated process with another person.
Throughout childhood, I developed hyper-awareness to people around me and wanted to help everyone. I didn't follow dietary isolation restrictions due to this deeply ingrained behavior pattern. These things come to light rapidly in plant medicine space, and learning to be aware of them and break free. I am so grateful for this awareness and the courage to say I don't feel myself after this experience and need help. So back to the jungle we go ;) My home and play place.
