discipline & focus
I am back from a six-week hiatus and cleansed from social media. I found myself distracting myself from the pain and uncomfortable sensations in my body by ingesting too much social media. I began to research and understand the detrimental physiological effects screens and social media can have on our nervous system and endocrine system. I plan to cleanse a few times a year from screens and social media, ingesting less and creating more. Also, sometimes I just get exhausted by all the regurgitated words, and my soul thrives in my music, art, and spending quality time with people I love. Social media is a beast that needs to be used wisely and with discernment. War and corruption thrive off distraction, disregulation, and segregating us further.
Discipline is the act of training or developing self-control. The path to personal growth and healing comes down to understanding your own energy and nervous system. What is making your nervous system feel dis-regulated? Where are you giving too much of your energy? What is taking away your focus from what matters most to you? Even the act of healing or personal growth can become detrimental to the psyche and can be just another path of escapism and addiction.
With the number of different avenues and modalities of personal growth and healing, it can feel very overwhelming to know where to start or how to keep up with all of it. Just like any medicine, in 'Be Your Own Savior' we always start with the physical. Keep it simple at first by honing in on your focus on diet and exercise. Take baby steps, and as you build repetition and confidence in your ability to stay true to yourself, you will soon be flying.
After some much-needed self-love and care time, I am opening my doors for all services. Nebraska family, I am permanently moving to Peru in three months. This will be your last opportunity to step into the ring of my online mentorship, 'Be Your Own Savior,' all done in person. Do not expect to be coddled in anyway. This is not for the faint of heart, but for those who have the courage to face the darkest aspects of themselves.
