how do i connect with my ancestors?
2019. I just finished my three Ancestral clearings and am now moving into three relationship clearings. Relationship clearings for me are not about pushing away or bocking out my loved ones or past lovers but rather connecting more deeply with them, their experiences, and their pain to bring me a deeper sense of compassion for the human experience. To make space to invite authentic relationships willing to meet me in the depths of all that, it means to be a human. To invite joy, abundance, and a sense of harmony, peace, and understanding. To hear more clearly the teachings and messages that can be received. To become more connected with my guides within. Let the Universe speak LOUD through you!
I am excited to announce the birth of my journey with one of the most effective medicines I have had the opportunity to dive into from South America, Kambo. I was honored to have been able to take an initiation course from an indigenous tribe of South America, the Huni Kuin. This was an initiation into being able to start serving myself this medicine and commence a relationship with Kambo. This medicine has brought me excessive physical and emotional relief, helping to rid myself of the somatic trauma that is held in my body. I also suffer from a degenerative eye disease called Keratoconus, which rapidly changes eyesight over a short amount of time. This has been very scary for me, but thanks to this medicine, my vision has regenerated. This is not a medicine for the faint of heart, as it is not the most enjoyable experience, but the rewards are boundless. I am using Kambo alongside prayer, Pachamandala's, floral baths, and the elements to accomplish three consecutive ancestral clearings following three relationship clearings. I am inviting you to follow me on my journey with this medicine!
What is Kambo?
Kambo is a healing ritual used mainly in South America. It's named after the poisonous secretions of the giant monkey frog, Phyllomedusa bicolor. The frog secretes the substance as a defense mechanism to kill or subdue animals that try to eat it.
What do people use kambo for?
Indigenous people have used kambo for centuries to heal and cleanse the body by strengthening its natural defenses and warding off bad luck. It was also believed to increase stamina and hunting skills. These days shamans and naturopathic practitioners still use it for cleansing the body of toxins, as well as treating numerous health conditions like addiction, Alzheimer's disease, anxiety, cancer, chronic pain, depression, diabetes, hepatitis, HIV and AIDS, infections, infertility, rheumatism, and vascular conditions. Like many of the medicines I work with, they apply to many levels of healing, from the physical to the mental/emotional and the spiritual, more abstract energetic levels of healing.
What does Kambo feel like?
A Kambo ritual generally starts with drinking around 1 liter of water or cassava soup. Subsequently, the therapist or Kambo practitioner creates minor burns via a glowing timber, often around 3-5, traditionally at the ankle or upper arm. After scraping away the blistered skin, the secretion is applied to the wound, reaching the lymphatic system and quickly the bloodstream. The first symptoms reported are a rush of heat, redness of the face, and promptly emerging nausea and vomiting, dizziness, and edema, sometimes following within minutes.
