how do i process emotions?
I have spent the last 10 years focusing on myself and submerging myself into my own
healing, as well as cultivating my business and ways in which I can uniquely pass down the
healing tools that have been taught to me. After my most recent healing expedition to Peru, I planned to start working and holding space for others and their healing. Still, I was inebriated with many quite piercing metaphorical layers of skeletons in my closet en route to the surface. I got down on myself for not getting much work done, art done, or being capable of doing everything I wished to achieve upon arrival in the States.
Over the last few months, despite standard resistance, insecurities, and worries about
judgments, I felt empowered to step fully into my work. I had firm confirmations and felt a Gnosis that it was time to give back. Life began to blossom and flow within me like I had never felt before, and opportunities began to present themselves from many avenues to continue this work. In the giving, I received some of the most profound healing moments between myself and my clients.
None of us are ever entirely healed, and embracing our humanity is of utmost importance. In this work, it is essential to feel when it is time to step back into focusing on our healing and when it is good for us to give to others. This has bolstered a gracious humility within myself and helped me find commonalities between myself and the people who might be attracted to my work.
It is time to thoroughly see and secure ourselves as godly, gifted beings with an immense capacity to spread love and healing within our lives and the world. To envelop our gifts in the fullest expression of what they are and what they will Become.
I have always felt surpassingly allied to my emotions and, over time, how to process them healthily. Recently, I have been connecting with the excellent water spirit of the Yoruba region, ‘Yemanja.’ Yemanja is a motherly spirit and strongly protective, caring deeply for her children and washing them of all their sorrows. She does not quickly lose her temper, but when angered, can be quite destructive and violent, like the turbulent flood waters of the rivers. Yemanja is known to cure infertility in women. She is depicted as a mermaid and associated with the moon, water, and feminine energies. Yemanja governs all about the feminine, protector of the woman and children, parenting, child safety, love, and healing. According to the myths, when her water broke, it caused a great flood creating rivers and streams, and the first mortal humans were birthed from her womb.
It is time for us to be joined by our power as angelic humans and see ourselves in the light and gifts we behold and are becoming. I am so astonishingly full,
honored, and grateful to witness others find the courage to step forward in their own healing and growth. In remembrance, at hand, is my most recent painting to honor my gift to be so profoundly akin to my emotions and those of others dear to me. To adopt this tool to show others how to process and heal their feelings healthily so that we can return to the solid, strong, calm waters for ourselves and our loved ones.
