how do I bring ceremony into my life?
2022. I have been studying the four masculine archetypes (King, Magician, Lover, Warrior) and their boy counterparts (Divine Child, Hero, Precious Child, and Oedipal Child). Learning which archetypes I most resonate with and how I might hold onto parts of their immature boy counterparts. I find many aspects of myself where I embrace healthy masculine archetypes and some that need work.
One of my practices that I started in the magic Andes mountains last year, which has an underlying resonance with all four archetypes, is that I do a ceremony making soup every month for the full moon. For this ceremony, I lay water out in the moonlight to be charged up by the full moon's energy. Sometimes the water is out for 2 days before the moon culminates and brings it inside 2 days after. On the night of the culmination of the moon, I typically sing, dance, and pray to the water for 3 to 6 hours. Many times incorporate and ingest some of my favorite plant medicines for manifestation and prayer, like cacao, hape, mapacho, cannabis, or psychedelic mushrooms. I will consume the magic full moon soup over the next month, gifting some to friends and family.
We leave a vibrant tapestry or imprint on anything or anyone we encounter, even imprinting the world. We do this through thoughts, prayer, or speaking to another person. Today I make a quick Facebook prayer for the world to find joy and magic in their life. To realize and come into our power of how we show up for ourselves, families, friends, and the world at large is always seen and heard. Even if it's not posted all over Facebook, it might not feel like it is seen or accepted in its fullness. This soup/broth will be ingested as a prayer that we all realize and appreciate the most minor acts of kindness and thoughtfulness. They are always seen and ripple out into the furthest reaches of the stars. That all you lovers and givers keep finding the strength to keep giving, especially to yourself, because you are so fucking appreciated and incredibly loved.
One of my kindergarten teachers said something along the lines of, 'If you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself.' Some of the simplest truths will keep bringing us back home to ourselves and each other.
Below are pictures of the intuitively made full moon soup I conjured over the worm moon and some bone broth I decided to make with the total moon water. I also like using water for plant baths, sprays, or simply ingesting with gratitude.
