how do I stand up for myself?
2022. One of my greatest lessons has been how astonishingly paramount it has been for me to express myself and my needs healthily. I have had many remarkably strenuous ayahuasca ceremonies where the shaman or space holders made it luminous. If you need help, you must try to vocalize it. In many of those ceremonies, I found myself in my stubborn masculinity, telling myself I could do this alone while simultaneously irritated at why they couldn't see that it was indisputably evident that I needed help. Considering these experiences, I have found myself repeating this pattern in my life, especially within close relationships. I often find myself resentful for my unmet needs, although I have never expressed them. The more I become aware of my nervous system and how to nurture myself, teaching others how to help me, teaching them to speak their needs and ask for help, the more ease, harmony, and a much deeper sense of connection I find within my relations. This can be done between adult relations and our children, especially for single parents. We can teach them that sometimes even as adults, we might need help and that they can play their part in helping us, bonding us even closer to our children. Understanding, learning, and expressing the needs of our nervous system and emotional states and tuning into our families is a love language and key to our evolution. Teaching ourselves and our loved ones how to understand and express themselves in every bandwidth of feeling that comes with being human.
