What is tarapoto, Peru like?

Dear Tarapoto, A new piece of Peru that has completely taken my heart. You remind me of home. You give me a reset, a break from all the 'work.' You like a little piece of Western culture here in Peru; you bring me back home to a piece of myself I don't want to forget. You remind me not to push away my past but to embrace it and fully love all parts of myself. You help me find peace in the chaos, the noise, the sounds of machinery and motos. You have gifted me with my first medicine and the fruits of the jungle, a new place to call home. You have given me many blessings and opportunities, and I am eternally grateful for your medicine. I enjoy Tarapoto because it feels like American and Western culture, with good restaurants, healthy food and fruits, breweries, clubs to dance to, coffee shops, and fun and friendly people.
